A 16 year old boy ran a mile to a girl's house.
He rang her doorbell and she came outside
To sit on the front porch steps and talk.
Exact words may not be remembered from that night long ago.
But emotions and happiness remain with the memories.
He shared how he enjoyed spending time with her.
He shared how he loved writing letters to each other.
He shared he wanted to get to know her better.
This girl's life was changed from that night forward.
A simple crush on this handsome 16 year old boy turned into more than just a crush. It turned into a friendship. A sweet friendship full of laughter and adventures. A friendship that grew through good times and even some bad.
They were falling in love.
"I felt like writing poetry
a couple thoughts to you from me
i really don't have much to say
but i just thought of you today
it brought to me a peaceful smile
so i just stopped and thought awhile
i thought of times i spent with you
and all the things we've still to do
of shooting stars of singing songs
of crocodiles of flip flop thongs
late night movies walks and rain
laughing talking smiles and pain
sports, a T.P. on a hill
a moo moo cow and theme park thrills
a mountain view of city lights
some long goodbyes with arms held tight
these were just a couple thoughts
of priceless times that can't be bought
some memories i have with you
there's no one else i'd give them to"
In two weeks we celebrate a wonderful two years of marriage.
I stand beside this boy who has grown into a man. A man who is my husband.
He continues to make me smile and laugh. He works so hard in caring for others. I love to find his hidden sweet notes reminding me of his love. We not only have our love but a sweet special friendship. I thank the Lord for bringing us together and leading us in our lives.
A boy and a girl who fell in love.

Being married to your best friend is a sweet gift, isn't it? :) Happy anniversary (a little early :)).
