Wildflowers & Summer Days in the Mountains

Purple Aster
I feel like for this post I do not even need to write anything. The pictures themselves are enough to enjoy. We enjoyed spending Sunday afternoon yesterday with Krista driving through the mountains and valleys covered in wildflowers. It was great as well to have some time with Daniel for dinner and a movie once he arrived home from his backpacking trip. The wildflowers and mountain views we enjoyed this past weekend in the Gunnison and Crested Butte area captured in our pictures. Here are a few of the many types of wildflowers growing on the mountainsides of the Western Slope of Colorado.

 In about the middle section of this picture is Mount Crested Butte. Crested Butte is 30 minutes north of Gunnison where Krista & Daniel live (my sister in love and brother in love) for those of you who are new to reading the blog. If you look closely in the next pictures you can see the rain falling off in the distance over Mt. Crested Butte.

One of the best reasons to get away to the mountains of western Colorado. Krista, Daniel, and baby on the way!

We heard thunder and had been keeping an eye on the dark clouds moving towards us so we decided we shouldn't wait around too long in this wide open area. We made it down to Crested Butte right as the rain started.

Psalm 95:2-4
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

Let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

For the LORD is a great God,

And a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth;

The heights of the mountains are his also.
