Dear Family and Friends,
Today has been a day of good reports, for which we are so thankful. Both of the doctors were pleased with the progress of healing, the digestive system problems were remedied, three of the five drains/pumps were removed, and we had wonderful news that there is no sign of cancer in the lymph nodes. We praise the Lord for all of these things.
There is an additional test that we are waiting on to determine the need for chemotherapy. The Oncotype DX testing looks at the ways the cell divides in the tumor, and the likelihood of the chance for recurrence. Those results will not be in for about two weeks. Then the oncologist makes her official recommendation for further treatment. But the doctor is not expecting any surprises on that, so hopefully I will not need any chemotherapy.
With each day I am feeling better pain-wise. The doctor’s orders are for lots of rest with not much arm movement. We will continue to monitor for signs of infection.
Our nurse- daughter, Krista, from Colorado, my loving husband, and my attentive mother have been a critical part of the love and care I have received at home.
We cannot thank you enough for your support and prayers for us during this time. We have seen and felt the love of God through you.
With grateful hearts,
Carrie and Rick
