What does the future hold

During my last semester of college, I did an internship at Polytuff, Inc. which is a screen printing company. After I graduated, they kept me on as an employee. I love working there. When people ask what I do, Caleb always responds, "She's a graphic designer." I don't know if I would necessarily give myself that title. Most of my work does not consists of actually "designing something from nothing." I design and re-set up artwork that has already been created when it isn't in the correct format or software we have. We print all kinds of products such as car magnets, bumper stickers, t-shirts, license plate frames, plastic license plates, political yard signs etc. for churches, schools, car dealerships, organizations, political campaign groups, businesses, all across the country. I work with the greatest people, and really enjoy my work.

I've had people ask what am I going to do once we move and Caleb is working. Once we're in Colorado, I am not sure what I will be doing. And I am 100% fine with not knowing. This doesn't mean I don't have any plans or ideas. I love being flexible and having my own schedule to go by so I'm not going to jump into finding employment anywhere right away. I think the best way to describe what I want to do after we move is do all the things that people wish they had the time to do.

At first, I will spend my time unpacking obviously and setting up our home, getting to know the area around us, and I want to really make a point to get to know our neighbors who we'll be living by. I want to have time to give my time to others. This will be an awesome change for me because I will be getting out of my comfort zone. Colorado will be a place full of new people and new places and I don't plan on sitting at home watching television because I won't have a job starting out.

One opportunity I am interested in looking into is seeing if there are any volunteer opportunities at the hospital where Caleb will be working. Caleb said hospitals use a lot of volunteers doing lots of different things. I know one volunteer position in our hospital here in Greenville is rocking newborn babies. My best friend is a teacher and I have heard her talk so much about how school volunteers make a world of difference to elementary teachers. Teachers don't work just 8-3 and then get to go home. They have so much work to do once the children leave and volunteers help make teachers' lives easier. I'm also looking forward to us finding a great home church wherever we'll be living, and I'd enjoy being able to have time to get involved with ministries in the church.

Most likely, Caleb will be working 12 hour shifts so he'll only work 3 days a week. So of course, on the day's he's not at work we'll probably get to be out exploring our new place and hiking, biking, camping, and checking out all the beauty in the Colorado mountains and parks.

I've learned to enjoy not having a plan for everything and to let myself be led. I know God will put me in places and lead me to the best places that I can serve him by loving and serving others around me. Just as he will do the same for Caleb in his employment.
