Our week in a snapshot

What a wonderful visit we had this past weekend with our friends Kelli & Nathan. It was so nice to spend time with them and hear about their experiences with moving away from home for the first time. Kelli, thanks for all of your thoughts and stories on moving. We love you guys and really hope a trip to Colorado will be in your near future.
It's hard to believe that in 5 days we'll be on the road to Colorado. There is so much going on this week which is a great thing. We've been feeling productive with getting in annual eye, dentist, and doctor appointments before we head out and of course with all of the packing we're doing. I'm almost looking forward to the 3 days on the road because it will force us to slow down and just "relax" in a way. Maybe not relax, as being in the car for that many hours in a day can get tiresome, but relax in a sense of enjoying the ride and being still.

Krista flies into Greenville tonight and will be here a week. We are excited to see her (and see her again once we're out in Colorado!) I'm really looking forward to Thursday as we're going up to Hickory, NC to see the Heavner grandparents and family. Then Friday morning we pick-up the moving truck. We've stored some furniture at my parents house since we didn't have room in our apartment this first year so we'll be picking that up as well as getting some furniture from Caleb's parents. This is in an exciting and changing time for our families. Not only are we moving to Colorado, but Caleb's parents are leaving in July for China. They will be there for 2-6 years teaching. They have been busy preparing for their move as well with cleaning out stuff, packing, and deciding where to store or sell furniture. Please pray for them as they still have more decisions and needs to be met over the next couple months.  A big need for them right now is to find a climate controlled storage or place to keep a lot of their belongings.

It will be an adjustment I know as our families are being stretched wide, but it will be good also. I am so thankful my parents are going to be driving the 3 days out to Colorado with us and spending a few days there. Having them see our new home and location will be more fun than if we just told them about it over the phone or through blogging. In June & July they will be going to Maine this summer to enjoy a few weeks of vacation and spending time with my mom's family. It will be sad that Caleb & I won't be able to make it to Maine this summer. It will be my first summer not getting to spend time in Maine. We look forward to making another trip to Maine soon and to see all of our family there. Well, I'm off to packing again as today and tomorrow are our last days to pack up.
