Two long days on the road have been completed and we're only 3 hours away from Colorado Springs! Yesterday went by very fast for us although it was about a 14 hour day from leaving to Greenville to arriving in Edwardsville, Illinois at the Hagin Bed & Breakfast. We enjoyed a quick visit with my Uncle Scott & Aunt Peggy. We were treated to a yummy cool custard treat in town and a FREE T-SHIRT. Thanks, Uncle Scott! We awoke early for a deliciously prepared breakfast casserole, toast, and fruit. What a wonderful part of our trip out West.
Today was much better driving conditions than yesterday as we had to make some detours off interstates because of traffic back-ups. Kansas is full of green rolling prairies which is beautiful but after hours and hours and some more hours of this scenery it does start to get old. Lines of dozens of windmills and oil pumps broke up the monotony of prairie lands.
Tonight we are enjoying a relaxing evening in the small Kansas town of Goodland. The hot tub and heated indoor pool felt very good on our tired bodies from driving. Tomorrow we'll make it to our new home!
